Tarzan used to live with the guards at the “Duga” Radar Station. As people would visit “Duga” he could be found greeting visitors and gladly, gently taking treats from their hands. He is considered the unofficial guide of the Exclusion Zone, being the first into buildings, waiting patiently while photographs are taken, and enjoying scratches on his head. Tarzan loves to accompany tourists along the walks through the woods and likes to play with any stick that is thrown for him. He is well known for his solid stature and soft yellow eyes.

During the Russian occupation of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, Tarzan went missing. He was later located at the Dytiatky check point. He now lives at a home in Dytiatky, Ukraine and is well cared for.
